One of the most simple marketing techniques is to trade links with other websites. This serves for two purposes: One, people on someone elses website may see your link and click on it. Two, the more links to your website that are on other websites, the better search rankning you will achieve on the search engines. Thats two benefits from the same technique. You should be active in message boards (forums) as well and include your website address at the bottom of your posts or signuature line. Again, this is good for the same exact reasons as mentioned above.
Reviews on search engines and review websites are becoming more important every day. For instance, if you use Google Places, customer reviews are placed right there on the page along with a star rating. Be proactive and create your own positive reviews! Don't wait for customers to input their own or when you have a few bad reviews, this can turn possible customers away! If you do have bad reviews, bury them with good reviews to push back the back reviews.
